Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were once quite friendly with David and Victoria Becham. The former football star and his wife have known the royal family for many years and are said to be keen to welcome Meghan to the UK
It is reported that Victoria even gave the duchess the names of her favourite hairdressers, stylists and spas to visit in and around London. But when the tabloids began to publish stories about the help Meghan received, she believed Victoria had leaked the information to the press and told Harry to call David to ask about it. The accusations and questions from the prince left David “furious”.
This is also confirmed in Tom Bower’s book. Vengeance: Meghan, Harry and the Windsor War that the duke asked the Inter Miami FC co-founder to fly 22 hours to Australia to attend the Invictus Games with him but had no intention of meeting him there. According to Bower, Harry decided to keep his distance from David because Meghan did not want any media “competition” from him or Victoria.
